Car safety is the avoidance of car accidents or minimization of other harmful effects of accidents. These days car safety has become the major concern for all the automobile companies and while manufacturing the latest models they always remember the factor of car safety. It can also adjust according to the changing conditions. A car safety feature such as the night vision technology improves the visibility at night by sensing the heat generated by objects. Certain car safety features also use infrared technology.
When an accident is imminent, various passive safety systems work together to minimize damage to those involved. Passive car safety features includes seat belts, air bags, crumple zones etc. Seat belts are said to play a vital role as they keep a person from being thrown forward. Then comes the concept of air bags and are in front as well as at the side. It is also known as Supplementary/Secondary Restraint System (SRS) or as an Air Cushion Restraint System (ACRS). The air bag system ignites a solid propellant, which burns extremely rapidly to create a large volume of gas to inflate the bag. Apart form these two there are other car safety features as well. Cage construction is designed to protect vehicle occupants. There are fuel-pump shutoff devices that are there to turn off the gas flow for preventing from gasoline fires.
There are different car safety measures for adults, infants and young children that need to be taken care of while you are driving. One should adopt various safety measures that are designed with the most up-to-date technology both including active as well as passive car safety features.
